Designed for a newly constructed home in South Reno, this project transformed a blank backyard into a cohesive outdoor living environment while reimagining the front landscape to create a unified experience from the street to the rear garden. Inspired by Japanese garden principles, the design carefully adapts the aesthetic to Northern Nevada by selecting climate-appropriate plants that capture the character and feeling of traditional Japanese landscapes while thriving in Reno's high desert environment.

This project transformed an existing residential landscape through expanded planting, decorative rock, and thoughtful composition across the front, side, and rear gardens.
It began with a consultation through Moana Nursery before being transitioned to me for project management and implementation. Working closely with the client as the scope evolved, I refined the planting layout, recommended additional plant selections, developed the decorative rock patterns, and coordinated the installation to create a cohesive landscape that complements the home's architecture and its Mt. Rose setting.

This landscape was designed for a home in Reno's ArrowCreek community, where thoughtful planning and architectural review are integral to every project. The design balances outdoor living, planting, and natural materials to create a cohesive landscape that complements both the home and its mountain setting. The project included preparation of the design package for HOA architectural review and approval.
Blue Spruce
Located in Reno's Galena area, this landscape was designed for a custom home nestled among mature trees and the natural mountain landscape. The project balanced ornamental planting with the existing character of the site while creating a welcoming arrival experience and outdoor living spaces that complemented the home's architecture. As the project evolved, the design was thoughtfully refined into a phased implementation plan, allowing the long-term vision to be achieved over time while respecting construction priorities and budget considerations.
Rough Rock
This landscape concept was designed to create a welcoming arrival while extending the home's living experience into the backyard. A bubbling boulder fountain welcomes visitors at the front of the property, while a custom pond and waterfall create a tranquil focal point in the backyard. Layered planting, natural stone, and drought-conscious plant selections provide year-round interest, with the front and rear landscapes thoughtfully unified into a cohesive composition that complements the home.
Mountain Bluebird
Created for a home in Reno's Galena community, this landscape emphasizes seasonal beauty through a diverse palette of ornamental trees and layered plantings chosen for spring flowers, summer texture, brilliant fall color, and winter interest. The result is a landscape that evolves throughout the year while remaining cohesive, balanced, and well-suited to Northern Nevada's climate.
